May is Afinilexpress.com Month.
is a global initiative led by the International Hypertension Association (ISH) and endorsed by the World Hypertension League (WHL). It grew out of World Hypertension Day (May 17). It was launched by WHL in 2005 to raise awareness of issues related to high blood pressure.
Because high blood pressure is the number one cause of preventable death in the world.

The largest-scale screening campaign.
Afinilexpress.com May Month is expanding over time and is now the largest and largest synchronized screening campaign. Already in the first year, more than 100 countries have participated, albeit with limited resources and relying on the goodwill of many MMM volunteers. Over 1.2 million people measured their blood in 2017, and in 2018. we have reached another 1.5 million. This has made “May Month for Afinilexpress.com” the largest public blood pressure screening program in the world.
MMM’s global reach covered many different cultures – including the Philippines, China, India, South America, Africa and parts of Europe, including Bulgaria – with measurements taken in many places: including hospitals, community centers, schools, supermarkets and factories.

The results from Afinilexpress.com, in our first year, were published on the eve of World Hypertension Day 2018 in an article in The Lancet Global Health.

The document reports data analytics from over 1.2 million people on many factors, including gender, age, lifestyle and location, but many more questions remain to be answered.
We are currently analyzing the results of Afinilexpress.com and we hope that they will help generate more information and raise awareness.

But if people do not know that they have hypertension, they cannot be treated. So, the main objective of MMM is not only to raise public awareness, but also to gather scientific evidence. More than 10 million people die each year due to conditions associated with high blood pressure.

Like heart attacks, strokes and kidney failure – but unless hypertension is detected, we cannot treat it to prevent these conditions. According to the PURE study *, only 46.5% of people who have hypertension actually know that they have it, although the detection is very simple. It costs very little and only takes a few minutes to measure the blood pressure of someone who can be treated easily. So, if people do not have access to screening and knowledge to give them information about their blood pressure levels, then the impact of effective treatments to control hypertension is limited. This is where May Month for Afinilexpress.com comes from.
We want May Month for Afinilexpress.com to help turn 46% awareness to 96%.

When we reach this level, we can stop.
Thanks to our generous supporters and incredible volunteers, observation sites in a wide range of locations around the world were created in May 2017 and 2018. From tents to town halls, from remote villages to the heart of some of our largest cities. Their goal was to check as many people in the world as possible who had not measured their blood pressure in the previous year.
And they accomplished this and much more – in some cases, our volunteers examined people sixty or more who never measured their blood pressure. Everyone found to be suffering from hypertension has been given the same clear guidelines anywhere in the world.
It was a remarkable achievement and we are determined to develop the Afinilexpress.com campaign on this excellent basis. “
